A Preloved Home Furnishings & Textile Shop

Recycled curtains, bespoke handmade curtains, preloved cushions, tassels, fabric and more.

Recycle

I gather unwanted or surplus textiles from various local sources. I sort, process and wash them. Stains, smells and other problems are treated. A few items will be ready for resale at this point.

Many arrive damaged. Curtains, cushions and tassels, are repaired using many different techniques. If they cannot be salvaged whole, they are deconstructed so their parts can be re-used or re-sold.

Remake

I create unique bespoke curtains by hand combining different coloured and textured recycled fabrics, reclaimed trims, vintage velvets and often line them using preloved sheets, duvets etc.

There are handmade outsize curtain pairs for HUGE & small windows.

New handmade products will be launched in 2023.

Re-sell

I sell curtain pairs, single door curtains, tassels and tie backs made from vintage velvet, velour, designer, retro and modern fabric. Cushions, removable linings, curtain hooks, curtain rings etc. are sold too.

I’ve a section for fellow makers with a growing range of fabric remnants, upholstery material, trims, vintage textiles, embroidered tablecloths, crochet & lace tableware and miscellaneous textile finds.

A glimpse

Textiles are my happy place 🙂

My why

Because I love the environment, I’m passionate about textiles and sewing. Because I don’t like waste. Because I was bought up to believe that recycling and reusing is important.

Large volumes of textiles sent for recycling in the UK get sold, packed up in shipping containers and end up oversees.

Everyone is becoming more aware of “fast fashion” which is great – but the amount of home textiles that are made and purchased must equally have an impact.

Having seen photographs and videos online showing that in many countries, textiles are piling up and ending up in landfill and the ocean, it hurt. And made me want to do try to contribute in a small way to stop this happening, if I can.

I aim to try to keep some textiles here and either redistribute them to where they are wanted or repair damaged items and make them re-usable.

I aim for very minimal waste, trying to find uses for fabric scraps and threads. You can find out more about my sustainability goals and pledge by clicking the button below.
