Combining preloved textiles to create bespoke curtains is a joy. It actually came from necessity…during Covid, when I set up Revamped Curtains, it was very difficult at times to source fabric…a bit of a problem!
I began combining material and embellishments I had in my store cupboard to create unique winter curtains from scratch. The results truly excited and inspired me.
Velvet and lace are my favourite combo…

Over the last year I’ve been experimenting. Some curtains have been hand-embellished with various trims, fringing and lace.
Each item takes ages, to be planned, cut, tacked, sewn then lined. Lace and trims are mostly hand-stitched. The phrase “slow fashion” is coined for handmade garments but I’m the soft furnishings version! Slow Curtaining!
It isn’t easy to create these at all, although they look simple. There have been lots of mistakes, happy accidents and countless lessons learned!
Bespoke summer curtains are made by tie-dyeing.

A range of unique curtain tie-backs will be launched this summer find out more here.
I want my curtains, tie-backs and soft furnishings made from preloved materials to be really desirable, a treasured alternative to choosing to buy new.
I’ve got LOADS of ideas! My creative journey is detailed on INSTA, so if you’d like to see what I’m up to, why not follow me?
